Day 1 – Arrive – Yangon
You will be met at the airport by our English-speaking guide, and transferred to your hotel in Yangon. Relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel, after your long flight. Once recovered, meet up with your guide once again, and be taken to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, the countries most important religious sight. For dinner head to The Penthouse, a rooftop restaurant overlooking the famous religious monument. Overnight – Esperado Hotel
Day 2 – Yangon
This morning, go on a cultural walk through downtown with your guide. Explore some of the many British colonial buildings, while your guide explains a bit about their history. In the afternoon, make your way to Aung San Museum, and take a walk around the magnificent Kandawgyi Lake, otherwise known as the Royal Lake. As evening approaches, head to Chinatown in downtown Yangon for a truly local experience. Overnight – Esperado Hotel
Day 3 – Yangon – Bagan
Take an early morning flight to Bagan, one of the most important archeological sites in the world. You will have a full day, exploring the temples with you knowledgeable guide. In the evening, hop on a sunset cruise along the Irrawaddy River to cap off an extraordinary day. Overnight – Areindmar Hotel
Day 4 – Bagan
Following and early breakfast, make your way to Nyaung U market, and explore and observe many of the local customs. From here, head to one of the many lacquerware workshops in Bagan. Watch and admire how the local artisans crafts these works of art, which make great gift items. You will have the afternoon at your leisure to stay by your hotels pool, or explore Bagan by yourself. Day 5 – Bagan – Inle Lake
Take a morning flight to Heho, and be transferred to the picturesque Inle Lake. Upon arrival, board a boat, and go on a full days exploration of this incredible lake, passing by floating gardens, local fishermen, and visiting silk workshops on the lake Overnight – Thanakha Inle Hotel
Day 6 – Inle Lake
This morning, make your way through the Shan mountains by car, to the Green Hill Valley Elephant Sancutary, an hour and a half drive away. Feed, interact, and bath the retired elephants here, a truly rewarding experience. Return back to Inle Lake after lunch, and have the rest of your day at leisure. Overnight – Thanakha Inle Hotel
Day 7 – Inle Lake – Mandalay
Take a short morning flight to the old royal capital Mandalay. Close to Mandalay, you will find three further ancient capitals, and today you will go on a tour exploring each one. Start the day with a visit Amarapura, where you will find the famous U Bein Bridge. Following this make your way to Inwa, where you will be taken around by horse cart, before ending your day at Sagaing. There is a magnificent sunset view of Mandalay from the summit of Sagaing Hill here. Overnight – Yadanarpon Dynasty
Day 8 – Mandalay
Following a leisurely breakfast, you and your guide will head to the old colonial hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin. The drive will take an hour and will pass through lush green hills, with incredible views. Upon reaching the town, head to the Botanical Gardens, admiring the beautiful variety of flora. After lunch, visit one of the nearby waterfalls, a truly beautiful natural spot. Head back to Mandalay in the afternoon and have the evening at leisure. Overnight – Yadanarpon Dynasty
Day 9 – Mandalay – Depart
For your final morning in Myanmar, visit the Shwenandaw Monastery. This beautiful structure was built in 1880, and is the sole surviving original structure of Mandalay following bombings in World War 2. Enjoy your last taste of Myanmar food for lunch, before heading to the airport for your international flight.
