Day 1 – Arrive - Yangon
You will be met at the airport by our English-speaking guide, and transferred to your hotel in Yangon. Relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel or take a walk through the bustling streets, the afternoon and evening will be at your leisure. Overnight – Rose Garden Hotel
Day 2 – Yangon
This morning, go on a cultural walk through downtown with your guide. Explore some of the many British colonial buildings, while your guide explains a bit about their history. In the afternoon, make your way to Aung San Museum, and take a walk around the magnificent Kandawgyi Lake, otherwise known as the Royal Lake. As evening approaches walk around the beautifully lit Shwedagon Pagoda, the countries most important monument. Overnight – Rose Garden Hotel
Day 3 – Yangon - Bagan
Take an early morning flight to Bagan, one of the most important archeological sites in the world. You will have a full day, exploring the temples with you knowledgeable guide. In the evening, hop on a sunset cruise along the Irrawaddy River to cap off an extraordinary day. Overnight – Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort
Day 4 – Bagan
Following breakfast, join your guide for a trip to Mt Popa, situated an hours drive from Bagan. Climb this extinct volcano, for panoramic views across the plains below. Return to Bagan via a toddy farm, where local liquor is made. You will have the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight – Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort
Day 5 – Bagan - Mandalay
Today, board a relaxing cruise along the Irrawaddy River to Mandalay. Enjoy the slower pace of life, while observing rural life along the banks of this great river. Overnight – Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel
Day 6 – Mandalay
Close to Mandalay, you will find three further ancient capitals, and today you will go on a tour exploring each one. Start the day with a visit Amarapura, where you will find the famous U Bein Bridge. Following this make your way to Inwa, where you will be taken around by horse cart, before ending your day at Sagaing. There is a magnificent sunset view of Mandalay from the summit of Sagaing Hill here. Overnight – Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel
Day 7 – Mandalay - Inle Lake
Take a short morning flight to Heho, and be transferred to the picturesque Inle Lake. Upon arrival, board a boat, and go on a full days exploration of this incredible lake, passing by floating gardens, local fishermen, and visiting silk workshops on the lake Overnight – Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min
Day 8 – Inle Lake
Following a leisurely breakfast, board a boat and be taken across the lake to a cooking class. Spend the late morning and early afternoon learning some of the local delicacies with a master chef, before enjoying your hard work for lunch. In the afternoon, travel further to Indein, on the South side of the lake, famous for its many stupas. Overnight – Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min
Day 9 – Inle Lake
Enjoy a full day at leisure. Bicycles will be provided for you to explore the surrounding area or board a boat across the lake to Nyaung Shwe or the local hot springs. Overnight – Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min
Day 10 – Inle Lake - Yangon – Depart
Transfer back to Heho for your flight to Yangon. Once back in the former capital, make your way downtown to Bogyoke Aung San Market. The market contains over stalls, selling wears from across the country, and is a great way to finish your tour. Following your final lunch, you will be taken back to the airport for your international flight.
